Good news for those into premium Wordpress themes. You can now purchase Wordpress themes from Theme Forest with no minimum deposit.
The way it used to be
You’d go to Theme Forest, see a theme you wanted (for say $12). You’d make a deposit (the minimum was $20) and purchase the theme. You’d then be left with $8 in your account and either spend it on some little things at the other Envato marketplaces or wait until there was another theme you wanted to get. When it came time to get that theme you’d have to deposit another $20 leaving you with $28 and the cycle continues. This was great for Theme Forest, not so great for those wanting to buy a theme.
The way it is now
You can buy a theme for the advertised price, no minimum deposit. If you didn’t mind the previous method, then you’re in luck too. You save $2 on everything you buy when you prepay and deposit into your account. Win/Win.
This is the same for all Envato marketplaces, such as Active Den, Audio Jungle, Video Hive, Graphic River and the newest players 3D Ocean and Code Canyon as well.
I have a feeling this is going to tear down a big barrier to entry in the premium theme market.
